Linux EDUROAM settings

Use NetworkManager:

  1. Click to the Network Manager Icon or select it from menĂ¼.
  2. Choose the Edit Connections option.
  3. Click the Wireless tab after then click the Add button on right side.
  4. Set this options in the window:
    1. Connection name: Eduroam
    2. SSID: eduroam
    3. Mode: Infrastructure
    4. The BBSID and MAC address leave empty and MTU is automatic (this is default).
  5. Click to the Wireless Security tab and set up this:
    1. Security: WPA & WPA2 Enterprise
    2. Authentication: Protected EAP (PEAP)
    3. CA certificate (None).
    4. PEAP version: Automatic
    5. Inner authentication: MSCHAPv2
    6. Username: loginname@renyi.hu
    7. Password: password for your networkid
  6. At the connection process maybe you get a warning window with this message: "No Certificate Authority certificate chosen" , select the "Don't warn me again" option and click the Ignore button.
