Series of problems of probability together with their solution
I have worked out some problems of probability together with their
solution. They contain for one part standard results, but also several
non-trivial and (hopefully) useful results can be found here. I wrote
in the hope that they may be useful in education.
I intend to translate these texts into English, but I shall do it
only gradually. Hence only a small portion of the Hungarian series
of problems can be found here. But even this small portion may be
interesting for some mathematicians. It contains, in particular a
detailed discussion of a result of J. Komlós, P. Major and G.
Tusnády about the optimal approximation of the optimal
approximation of the standardized empirical distribution function by
a Brownian bridge.
By clicking to the approriate text one can find a brief description
about the content of that series of problems, and the TeX, dvi or
postscript files of the text are available.
I would welcome any comment or question about this series of problems
at the address major@math-inst.hu
.
